2021 is bringing a whole lot more than just the relief of being out of 2020: we’re getting new emojis!
The non-profit company Unicode is responsible for all new emoji releases. Unicode has announced that throughout 2021 more than 200 new emojis will be released! 🥳 🎉
This new release is promised to be fun and to continue expanding upon Unicode’s move toward inclusivity and diversity.
Here are just a few that are coming soon!
1. Face exhaling

According to EmojiPedia, this emoji is often used to express “relief, exhaustion, or as a sigh of disappointment or displeasure.”
2. Face in clouds

This emoji may represent a lot of different things, from feeling like your head is in the clouds to feeling like you’re walking through a fog.
3. Heart on fire

This emoji has two very different potential meanings: either burning a past love and moving on or a passionate form of love.
4. Mending heart

This emoji is meant to be the opposite of a broken heart, representing either sympathy or the healing process after feeling brokenhearted.
5. Woman with beard (multiple skin tones)

This emoji is representing a woman with long hair and a beard.
6. Couple with heart (multiple skin tones and genders)

While the couple with heart emoji has been around for a while, the Emoji Version 13.1 update includes more gender and skin tone options than previous versions.
7. Face with spiral eyes

The face with spiral eyes is usually used to indicate some form of disorientation, usually dizziness. It may also be used to represent hypnosis.
