Having a well-defined aesthetic has become very popular lately. Whether it’s through your fashion, decor, hobbies, or just general vibe, you can express yourself through an aesthetic.

There are a few aesthetics that have become mainstream, like VISCO Girls or Hipsters. However, there are many other aesthetics that you may not have heard of before! Here are 5 less-known aesthetics.

1. Grandma Chic

Grandma Chic is everything classic grandma but with a fun modern twist. It’s snarky cross stitch, mom jeans, vintage earrings, fancy teas, and lots of books. This aesthetic has been around for a while but has started gaining popularity due to increasing interest in thrift shopping. Thrift shopping has become trendy for its eco-friendly and cost-saving aspects. With more people shopping at second-hand stores, there is more exposure and accessibility to classic “grandma” style clothes. Thus, Grandma Chic is born.

2. BiblioPunk

BiblioPunk is a subgenre of punk that revolves around books, libraries, and all things literature. Think punk + book nerd. This aesthetic tends to value knowledge, equality in learning, and the freedom of information. The BiblioPunk community, like the punk community, does not welcome or tolerate any forms of hate or prejudice. It’s all about being yourself and reading books!

3. Royalcore

Royalcore is a general aesthetic that has many subgenres like Princesscore, Kingcore, and Queencore. This aesthetic revolves around everything royal, from keeping up with the British royal family, to elegant lacy dresses.

4. Plant Mom

The Plant Mom aesthetic is centered around plants and plant-related accessories. Typically someone who is a part of the Plant Mom aesthetic is very into nature, natural colors, and plants, duh. So, if you have a higher than average number of house plants, you might be a Plant Mom.

5. Witchy Academia

The Witchy Academia aesthetic revolves around all things magical and educational. This aesthetic is a mix of dark colors, vintage books, black cats, and the pursuit of education. Think Hogwarts mixed with Harvard. The Witch Academia aesthetic no doubt became popular thanks to books like the Harry Potter series. I know I’ve waited by the window for my Hogwarts letter…

There are so many fun and unique aesthetics out there! Check out this Wiki page for a comprehensive list of aesthetic options.
