We may not be able to take a trip to Six Flags or Cedar Point this summer, but that doesn’t mean we thrill-seekers can’t get our rollercoaster fix!

Remember those old days when a few tokens at Chuck E. Cheese would buy you a turn in the old-fashioned VR rollercoaster ride? Now, thanks to the generosity of several amusement parks, we can all virtually ride some of our favorite rollercoasters at theme parks across the nation from the comfort of our own homes.

These virtual rides give you a front-row seat in incredible coasters without the need to wake up early or wait in line. And don’t think that a virtual ride means that your stomach won’t drop! While these rollercoasters may not be exactly like going to an amusement park in person, there are still plenty of exhilarating twists and turns that will feel pretty close to the real experience.

Here are a few places offering virtual rides and attractions that you can check out this week.

Cedar Point

Aptly named the “roller coaster capital of the world,” Cedar Point offers virtual rides of more than a dozen different roller coasters. Grab your front-row seat and enjoy some of the fastest and most thrilling roller coasters in the world, including my all-time favorite, Millennium Force, and the multiple world-record-breaking Steel Vengeance if you’re looking for something more intense.

Six Flags Great Adventure

Want to ride the tallest rollercoaster in the world? Six Flags Great Adventure has you covered. Climb aboard Kingda Ka and watch out for a crazy drop! Take a break from the slow pace of quarantine life and speed things up with any of the virtual rollercoaster rides offered by Six Flags Great Adventure.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter

Accio rollercoasters! Okay, so while that spell doesn’t actually work in real life, you can still bring the magic of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter to your living room with POV rides of Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure or Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey.

Disney World

Speaking of magic, you and your family can “visit” the most magical place on earth with dozens of virtual rides spanning Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and more. Take a ride on the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, the famous “it’s a small world” ride, and even rides that aren’t available at Disney anymore!

Add some fun to your day with virtual rides and attractions from these different parks!
