Under the recommendations of the California Department of Public Health, the 2020 T&C Summit will not be occurring in San Diego from March 31 – April 2. Since the coronavirus is now considered to be a global pandemic, canceling large events and practicing social distancing are two crucial ways to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

This is understandably disappointing for thousands of digital marketing professionals, and you may have several questions about what the postponement of T&C means for your tickets, your hotel reservations, and more. To help ease your concerns, we hope to answer some of the most common questions about the event and keep you updated on the latest news from T&C event coordinators.

Why are large events like Traffic & Conversion Summit being postponed in the first place?

When the coronavirus outbreak first began in Wuhan, China in December of 2019, there wasn’t much information about the illness. However, as the outbreak quickly spread into a global health crisis, experts learned that asymptomatic individuals may carry the virus and unknowingly transmit it to others far more often than they had previously estimated. “Asymptomatic and mildly symptomatic transmission are a major factor in transmission for COVID-19,” says Dr. William Schaffner, a professor at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and longtime adviser to the CDC. “They’re going to be the drivers of spread in the community.”

Even if a person feels completely healthy and doesn’t show any symptoms, they could easily spread the virus to someone who is already immunocompromised. Canceling major events and social gatherings might be frustrating, but with nearly 148,000 confirmed cases of coronavirus globally, it’s important to prioritize the health and safety of others at this time. While we love T&C, we’re relieved that they made the right call and postponed Traffic & Conversion Summit until later in the year.

When will T&C be rescheduled?

T&C organizers are postponing the Summit until later in the year, although it’s difficult to say when the conference will be rescheduled. At this point, organizers are following recommendations from public health officials and staying up-to-date on all the latest news regarding the coronavirus. According to the Summit’s website, event coordinators plan to announce new dates for T&C as soon as possible.

Are refunds available for T&C ticket holders?

Event organizers are working tirelessly to give each T&C attendee information about transferring or refunding their ticket purchases, but these options will likely take a few days to be put into action. Check your email regularly over the next couple of days to be informed of any news about your T&C tickets.

As more news is released about the Traffic & Conversion Summit, we’ll continue to update you with the most relevant information.
